2 exciting giveaways

My dear friend Jenny Doh has co-authored a most amazing book with Jo Packham, titled Where Women Create: Book of Inspiration. Inside you will find candid views into the lives and studios of 23 well-known artists who will share with you not only their personal stories, but also lots of creative tips and ideas that are sure to inspire. The photography is splendid. It was an honor and privilege to share my story in this book.

Giveaway #1: I am hosting a giveaway of a copy of Jenny and Jo's book (courtesy of the authors and Sterling Publishing). The winner will also receive (courtesy of Jenny Doh) their choice of either a stunning Crocheted Flower Necklace Kit and Video or a Circle Necklace Kit and Video. Each kit comes with hemp yarn, dyed vintage buttons, crochet hook, instructions, and a downloadable video.

To enter to win, just leave a comment for this post, letting me know what inspires you. You have until this coming Monday, May 10, 9PM EST to enter. The winner will be announced on my blog on Tuesday, May 11.

we have a winner and another giveaway!

It is a simply perfect May day here in Maine. Warm sun, a light breeze and a puff cloud sky that beholds many stories. I digress... yes, we do have a winner...

Thank you to everyone (all 97 participants) who entered the giveaway contest for my new book, Digital Expressions: Creating Digital Art with Adobe® Photoshop® Elements. I certainly wish I could award a copy to each and every one of you! I used a random number generator program to select the number for me -- it picked #75 -- the 75th. comment was left by Patti of Creative Cottage Dreamer. Congratulations to Patti!

{Echo} Week 13 - Abstract

“Within two hours of where I live, you have mountains and desert as location. I like the natural elements that abstract into light, texture, shape and shadow.” ~Herb Ritts

Chrysti and I are sharing our 13th. bi-weekly prompt with you -- abstract. Be sure to visit Chrysti's blog for our second diptych.

Chrysti's interpretation is on the left, mine on the right. Don't you just want to get lost in the purple bliss of her photograph?

Here is a close up view of my interpretation.

Won't you join us?:) You can post your contribution over at our Flickr group. Also, be sure to leave a link to your interpretation in the comment section for this post, or over at Chrysti's blog. For more information on the collaboration, be sure to read the instructions over at our Flickr group.

Attach the macro lens or switch to the macro setting on your camera -- it's time to get close up and blur the edges. We look forward to seeing what you come up with.
