Chrysti and I are sharing our seventh bi-weekly prompt with you -- whisper. Be sure to visit Chrysti's blog for our second diptych.
Chrysti's interpretation is on the left -- she says, "I dipped into a picture i took last summer for this week's echo... a calm, quiet day... whispers in the breeze... and the whisper of a memory." Mine is the candle in the snow -- the presence of candlelight in the cold Maine winter whispers to me of warmth and the promise of spring's return.
We would love for you to join in:) You can post your interpretation over at our Flickr group. Also be sure to leave a link to your interpretation in the comment section of this blog, or Chrysti's blog. For more information on the collaboration, be sure to read the instructions over at our Flickr group.
We have been enjoying your amazing contributions -- keep them coming!
Orange. Juicy, hot, citrus orange is back -- but it's retro with a fresh look to it. I am smitten. Winter makes me long, no, lust, for color! I have been spending the last couple of weeks sprucing up our home with bursts of it. I went with some coats of redorange paint for the kitchen barstools -- they make me so happy.
See that little set of corner shelves I made? -- they fit snugly against one edge of the kitchen cabinets. I love power tools:) Yes, those are vintage books for the tops -- got those gems for free at my town dump.
I created this chalkboard from the top of an old snack table -- the same one I used when feeding my kids in the middle of the night when they were babies. I attached pieces of cork to the base and top to serve as mini bulletin boards.
I ♥ my vintage panasonic orange radio -- a lucky ebay thrift. A lovely tealight centerpiece made of driftwood lights our suppertime. I am enjoying my little creation of chunky 4x4 canvases wrapped in scraps of vintage pillowcases. I am searching for an old wall phone to go beneath it -- I am thinking orange, yellow or maybe even lime green, but the lime green ones are a rarity ($$$) and I do try to aim for being thrifty.
We have been wanting a new patchwork quilt for our bed for some time. This is a very special gift to ourselves which we plan on having for the rest of our lives.
Here is a view of my computer nook where I digitally manipulate my photos, create digital art, write, blog, email, escape -- you know.

And a little something I tacked to the cabinet just to the left of the kitchen sink. It makes me smile whenever it catches my eye.
In the winter I have a daily ritual of filling the woodstove. I do this several times a day.
I've rediscovered this song from the old record days. ♥
