Oh, would love to win this book =) Hmmmmm, posted about my space today. I have many things there that inspire me...such as my collection of vintage baby cabinet cards.
But, vintage rhinestones inspire me so very much. I have them all around me and use them in almost everything I am designing these glorious days =)
So many things inspire me, visiting the library and picking out books with awesome illustrations with my daughter. Browsing on Etsy and in magazines to see what other people are making and a trip to the art supply or specialty store can really get the juices pumping
I'm inspired by all my favorite artists blogs and the online community in general. I don't know that I would be so motivated to stick with my art if it wasn't for the positive feedback online and the everyday inspiration (from online).
thanks for the chance to win:)
I am inspired by color these days ~ magenta, chartreuse, dove grey and silver...plum and hawthorn yellow.
I am inspired by words such as fleck, and swooping, pulchritudinous, goosebumps and bewilderment
I am inspired my mornings (especially sunday mornings since they are made for lovers)
I am inspired by music (dylan, ellington, van morrison and even my own voice when no one is listening)
I am inspired by artists such as yourself who share their inner words with such grace and generosity and passion (not to mention flare )
I am inspired by love:)
and coffee.
can't forget morning coffee
Hi Susan. I am inspired by artists who share their soul. It is palpable. It's not something one can try to do, I think you have to do it. It's soul calling .. creating .. speaking. I hear you.
Thankyou.
Hi Susan! Inspiration is all around us, you just have to look! I find so much inspiration seeing the amazing work of talented artists online. The internet has brought the whole world within my reach and it is something that I am so grateful for!!!
What inspires me? Three things come to mind. My family, nature and all of the wonderful blogs I visit.
As everyone has already stated, there is so much in this world to light the inspiration light bulb. What really gets me inspired are those who take that inspiration and create. Thanks so much for this opportunity for a chance to win this fantastic book. Wishing you a creative and fun filled weekend. Cheers.
IS VERY GOOD..............................
love, love, love your blog header!!!
to win a copy of this gorgeous book would be so exciting...i find inspiration in the world around me..art, nature and distressed elements and architecture...
thanks for the heads up on Jenny's giveaway of your new book too! :)
A few years ago, I was privileged to attend an early morning croquet tournament (the real thing). It was just about this time of year - the dew was on the grass, the sun was just coming up, and the most amazing part of the morning - the breeze gently releasing apple blossoms from their perch in the trees. Imagine little white apple flower drops cascading gently to the ground. It is perhaps one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen - and a continual source of inspiration to me, to capture in art what I see in nature.
What inspires me is the courage that we artists have to take bits and pieces of ourselves and put them out there to share with one another. That sisterhood/brotherhood of artists that support one another's endeavors and alo provide an understanding audience for our creative expressions. That we "get" each other inspires me to keep creating for myself, and to be part of a bigger picure - of creative beings doing what our creative souls need us to do.
So inpsiring...
(That necklace is sooooo beautiful and soft...)
Thanks Jenny and Susan ! Big Love !
Waking up each morning to the joyfulness of living among the mountains. Richness of bird songs and bird visits. Expansivenss of a home with a studio over looking nature. Surrounded by good friends and family, my mountain life inspires me to write, blog, and create.
Depth and movement of color inspire me - whether it is in fabric or photograph, or words for that matter.
Thank you Susan for this lovely giveaway! What inspires me right now, beyond walking with my dogs every day and looking at the beauties of rural/coastal Nova Scotia, is being able to see how others arrange their art spaces, what they are making, and where they live and how it all weaves together into a whole story! I love that!
inspired by ...soft paper .. a 17 year old cellist .. the sound of pen to paper .. dawn light .. muted colors of old pages .. a glass of red .. a dogs soft ears .. fresh spinach :: thanks, elk
Nature and family are my inspirations! I love my own forms of art.....jewelry, photography and just learning how to make collages!
I would love, love, love this book. I am setting up my own art studio in my new home and am always looking for ideas to get it organized and beautiful from the beginning. I started out with pink walls and a crystal chandelier!

Color inspires me.I would love to win. Please enter me. Thanks
Inspiration comes to me through nature with it's beautiful colors and textures and sometimes, smell. Birds, insects, animals as well as the trees and plants are all living things that inspire with their natural beauty. Peace and tranquility come from the observation and enjoyment of these living things that stimulate all of the senses.
There are so many things that inspire me right now: first of all my son who, at 4, is really curious about the world around him and it makes me see things in a different way. I am also inspired and challanged by the incredible women that I discover and meet daily online :-)
I'm inspired by sunshine, lilacs, spring. I love the dogwoods and the spring grass.
I would so much like to win this book. There are so many things that inspire me, vintage and distressed items, bold bright colors, my kids, and my husband. But I think I draw more inspiration from experimentation. I love to play in different mediums and get my hands dirty so to speak.
Inspiration for me comes from the talent of others who push me to attempt new techniques, use new mediums. My latest obsession is digital art. It is fascinating and a challenge that has captured my heart. I love it and could spend all day experimenting! I would enjoy your book so much.
fresh lemonade made by little hands.
Bless your heart for this generous giveaway. Inspiration comes for me from nature. When I see, touch, smell, and hear the beauty of nature, my muse kicks in and I am off!
I'm inspired by my family and other artists. I have a collection of blogs I visit everyday.
The Italians have a saying: Niente senza gioia - nothing without joy. It is pure play that inspires me, so anything can spark my curious imagination. I just let my senses guide me to the party and then let my fingers play with whatever calls me at the moment, whether it's language, clay, paint, fabric or photoshop (to name a few of my toys). Art is my playground and meditation.
Nature inspires me.
oh sheesh...almost anything can be a source of inspiration! A walk through the woods, a child's smile...a dark cloudy day, a patient at work, a song, a rusty old bottle cap...and of course other artists! Thank you for offering yet another giveaway Susan! I may be "inspired" to have one on my blog soon also! Have a most wonderful weekend!
How wonderful Susan!!! Thanks for the chance!

Nature inspires me, night and the light and colors of nature.
Having this book and getting ideas for where I create would be great!
Thanks for hosting a giveaway!
So much inspired me! Life is crammed full of inspiration. I am inspired by bloggers, of course. Of course, of course, of course! I am inspired by gorgeous movies and Edith Head's costumes. I am inspired by the camera in my hands. I am inspired by snatches of overheard conversations, and of course, by books. But, most of all, I am inspired by children. My daughter and her exuberance, her passion for living. My students and their curiosity, their laughter, their giggles. Yes, I am inspired by children.
What inspires me? You do... and childrens' book illustrations, and a strong cuppa jo, and lately... maps! They are colorful and full of texture, and a wee bit of text.
Oh... and a great artist show at the Little Dog Coffee Shop that you MUST go see. It's a german photographer whose prints are on allumninum. Her subject matter is/are billboards all over the world. Peeling, flaking layers of visual loveliness. They look like collage. Please go and see it so we can talk about it. Or better yet, meet me there, pal!
The quotes of human beings speaking their own soul wisdom never ceases to inspire me...
I am often inspired by nature- flowers, sea shells, trees, rocks, babies, leaves, and many other things in nature. I also am inspired by the creative blogs that I read- so many ideas.
My inspiration comes from artist dates (visit a gallery exhibit, look at art books at library or bookstore, take a walk with my camera, sign up for a class), colors and Mother Nature. Thanks for sharing this giveaway.
How exciting~~love to be inspired by other artsits!!
Looks like a wonderful book :)

Everything is an inspriration to me...everything- really!!! Happy Mother's Day Susan! And I LOVE your new header- it is gorgeous! Have a wonderful day!!!
sunlight filtered through the new green leaves, early morning birdsong, the deep blue of the sky, the smell of freshly turned earth and the scent released from the herbs on my deck....in short nature is deeply inspiring to me as are the creations and bared-souls shared by artists through their blog posts.....
Traveling the world and seeing how other cultures create - this inspires me! You have a great blog...thanks for sharing so much.
Ohhh what a lovely giveaway - I would love to win this! What inspires me? Fresh coffee that gets me 'humming', meditation, power walks, inspirational books & people (like you & your books my dear) and of course everyday life -inspiration is everywhere.
what inspires me? hmmm, a tough question because inspiration is in everything, it's just a matter of being open. A song, a passage from a book, patina on a fence, a faded flower, the laughter that spills out of my son, the baby soft cheeks of my daughter, birth, loss, the process of seeking, searching, always hoping to find the answers to my questions.
oh, and mindless watching of you know what!! haha!
Another giveaway - whoo hoo! Goshdarnit, though, I missed Jenny's giveaway. Thank goodness you both are in cahoots. :)
My copy of Digital Expressions arrived in the mail over the weekend and, Susan, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The artwork is beautiful and tutorials are super cool. I can't wait to try out your lessons. You really outdid yourself here, missy.
As for what inspires me...right now it's the music of Jonsi (www.jonsi.com/go), two Jamaican cookbooks I signed out of the library, and your book (no, I'm not brown-nosing! I truly am enjoying this book!).
ahhh the inspiration I find here....Please PlEASE enter me in your giveaway...
I'd love to be entered in your giveaway! Looks like I made #1 but am too late for #2 (darn). Inspiration takes so many forms ~ it's hard to narrow it down. I love the inspiration that comes from learning something new and then being able to adapt it to my vision.
Wonderful idea for a giveaway, count me in!
I found your blog for the first time this evening after just having read your piece "Artful Adventure in the Big City." It was very inspiring. I will be visiting NYC next month and hope to have 1/2 the experience you had! thanks for sharing. Pam
