what is

the leaves on the ground have passed.
a few tired apples cling to stripped branches that can't yet let go.
i am like that,
when autumn's end nears and winter comes knocking with a haste.

children and elderly folk have been my most powerful teachers
perhaps because they are so close to the source

my daughter and i went for a walk the other day
she taught me to see;
how to revel in the ending, bow gracefully, accept, let go

en-JOY what is

and rejoice in the certainty that
in time
these seeds on the wind
will start life anew.

Beautiful images Susan. I adore the one of your daughter running through the crispy Autumn leaves, how delightful! I know that I will never grow out of the desire to scrunch the fallen leaves beneath my feet.

Your photographs capture the spirit of early winter perfectly, Susan. I can practically smell the damp leaves on the ground. Your daughter looks like she is having a ball running around outside. She's adorable. And thank you for the link to the video. The music is gorgeous.

The curious and muted colors in your photographs always invite me to enter. The colors draw me in, they are almost bruised and lavendar scented.

Hi Susan,
When i first came here, i lost all notions of time,
Spellbound i walked in between your words, their silences, befriending their landscapes, their stillness.
listening to their stories,
You are so amazingly creative....it was as though i sat on one of the benches in your soul, deeply lost in you.
.....i'm very grateful to you, and to all that has lead my path....
Susan, how rich is your world, how beautiful!

i was a honour to have your visit!
Thankyou, for this "lieu de recueil" this peaceful dome, vast as your soul.

what an amazing series of photo; fall like we do not get in this area. What a creative child in action. I especially like the one where she is blowing on the weed; more then a photo - but a memory from childhood.
