"There was seemingly nothing out of the ordinary the morning I wrote this, until I wrote this..." -- visit my September WishStudio column to read more.

On another note, I have been diving deep into the digital world waters, submerging myself in study, falling in love with the process -- there has been endless play in Photoshop CS3 where I am making new discoveries, defining my own artistic voice and finding my own niche. Here are some of my recent digital montages that are featured in my article in the latest issue of Somerset Digital Studio. Both Thumbelina and Stagefright feature imagery of my dear friend Jess. Working with her likeness brings a whole new powerful dimension to my art-making -- feelings of caring, love, attachment, and awe for my beloved friend infuse every artistic move I make, bringing the pieces to life in a whole new, authentic way.

Helen's Visit

I wanted to announce that my second book, Digital Expressions: Creating Digital Art with Adobe® Photoshop® Elements, will be published by North Light Books in April 2010. It is a technique-based book appropriate for both beginners and more seasoned folk. I promise to let you know when it is available for pre-order on Amazon.

I am completely enamored with this English band -- you can find me these days swaying and leaping about the house to this song.

I just love the English band! My students start classes next week, and I'm sure they would enjoy it too.
Wish it was available in the US itunes store. Where did you purchase it?

These are beautiful Susan! Your photography is a true testament to your vision and spiritual awareness. When I look at them I feel somehow anchored to the moment and release at the same time. Is that weird? To feel so simultaneously in the moment and flying with it...

Hi Susan,

I am so blown away by your new creations. I especially love Thumbelina. What an awesome way to capture your friend. I also like the girl with the nest. You need to put a series of note cards together of some of your artwork. They would be wonderful to have!

Have a great day,
Tammy

Your digital montages are fabulous! I especially like "trust" and "Helen's Visit". The former is so clean, atmospheric, and poignant, whereas the latter is eerily, nostalgic, and playful at the same time.

Your images and the processing have hints of antique that are hauntingly beautiful. (I repeat that word a lot, don't I?)
Congratulations on your book! Great news!

These photographs have taken my breath away, Susan... especially the woman in red...Thumbelina...
Your creativity is boundless... like the imagination of your children and your love for being a mother.
I would like to take your class in the fall, can I do it with Photoshop 1, or do I have to buy something new? I hope you have a beautiful weekend. Roxanne
