at the farm

i had my camera in hand as i walked about the farm; a plethora of photographic subjects and moments for me to enjoy and revel in. We spent the past week visiting my husband's family on their farm in Connecticut. The old homestead is serene and visually stunning, my family warm and welcoming.

the rafters of the barn are home to barn swallows and their babies

meet Peanut the pony, Clyde the barn cat and Daisy the ambiance cow (as my mother-in-law calls her, as she will never be used for meat)

delicious flora; my in-laws are talented flower and organic vegetable gardeners

there are many hints of the past

i thoroughly lose myself in the beauty around me; being here puts me strongly in the present moment

I have been enjoying this music
and this light,
taking a virtual adventure
and feeling pulled to dance

Love the farm photos...you captured the simple beauty.

Daisy steals my heart! My mom has a pet cow named Lulu so she reminds me of her.

Susan, thank you for this lovely tour. I could feel your joy and contentment at being at the farm. The present moment is so inviting and when we give ourselves permission to arrive there, all manner of things shift and change. The world just seems different...

I always have to come back to your blog two or three times between entries. One look is never enough. Most of the time, I can't find any words to say because I'm in awe of what I'm seeing. You are a beautiful photographer.

You find the beauty within everything that surrounds you...because you are seeing from the beauty within yourself.

I am so glad to see you've had such a marvelous time. The ambiance cow really makes me smile. If we had land, that's exactly what type of cows we would have.
